Abstract

Four dammarane-type, three lupane-type, and an oleanane-type triterpenes named foliasalacins A₁ (1), A₂ (2), A₃ (3), A₄ (4), B₁ (5), B₂ (6), B₃ (7), and C (8) were isolated from the leaves of Salacia chinensis LINN. collected in Thailand. The structures of new triterpene constituents (1—8) were characterized on the basis of chemical and physiochemical evidence.
