A novel vertical polarization single-feed dual-frequency microstrip antenna with an arc-shaped slot is proposed and its radiation properties are demonstrated. By selecting arc-angle and radius of the slot suitably, return loss characteristics less than -15dB is obtained. The frequency ratio of the two frequencies is within a range of about 1.4 to 1.7.
