In a previous paper, we proposed a reactor circuit comprising a combination of reactors, single-phase transformers, and resistances. The reactor circuit can remove the 5th-harmonic voltages from its three-phase output voltage. In this paper, we present a new bridge-type three-phase transformer using a three-leg core and a E-form core. Both the line and phase voltages of the three-phase voltage source are applied to the transformer windings. The 5th-harmonic component of the output voltage decreases, because the 5th-harmonic component due to the line voltage and that due to the phase voltage cancel each other out. We describe the operating principle of the bridge-type transformer and its application to a removable 5th-harmonic voltage transformer.
