Abstract

The structure of N ′-(2-acetyl-3-methylpyrazine)-4-toluenesulfonylhydrazide was determined by X-ray crystallography. The compound crystallized in a monoclinic system, and was characterized thus: P 21, a = 7.1172(16), b = 15.099(2), c = 7.5965(18)Å, β = 97.261(2)°, Z = 2, V = 809.8(3)Å3. The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares on F2 to final values of R 1 = 0.0302 and wR 2 = 0.0762.
