We have observed photoelectrons from monolayer graphite formed on TaC (100) by using angle resolved ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy (UPS). It is very important to know to which band observed peaks in the spectra belong. Therefore we have calculated the intensity of photoelectrons from the monolayer graphite, by ignoring the influence of the substrate Ta(100). The result indicates that the intensity of photoelectrons from the π band is much larger than that from the σ band.
